What is Tixe?

TIXE (pronounced like bikes)
or
TIXE (pronounced like pixie, for our gay and transgender visitors)

Tixe was started as a separate entity of 4N Industries to focus solely on one of a kind custom motorcycle parts.Tixe is owned by Mark Foran. Mark started 4N Ind. in 1993 to build close tolerance prototype injection molds.

Along the way he began making parts for his own bikes as well as his buddies bikes.

This new enterprise needed a name. Back in high school, 1983, Mark and his friend Dennis had a class in which they used fake money buy and sell stocks on a weekly basis. Bringing a newspaper to class every Friday became a drag, so they began making up companies to buy and sell. Some at a profit, some at a loss. As the semester was coming to an end, they decided to go for a "Hail Mary Pass" and really make a killing on one. It needed a name.

They looked up at the exit sign, spelled it backwards and Tixe was born. They both got an A in the class. " I always wanted to call something Tixe." Mark says, "So, a few years ago I saw the opportunity and here we are."

Today Dennis owns a very successful heating and cooling company in Michigan.

February 2009

My bobber is over at Grease Rag Customs. We're finally making some progress on it. It's been a long
process, but it should really start looking like a motorcycle by spring. I have collected most of the
necessary parts, except that elusive $50 new Harley-Davidson motor. Who knows, maybe it'll even have
paint on it this summer.

Late April 2008

Congratulations to my buddy Gary for getting his chopper started (see picture above)! It's been a two year
project that should be on the road in May. He started it in his basement. Watch the video and
crank the sound up:

I got my forward controls done on my chopper/bobber. Woohoo! Maybe next month it'll
look like a motorcycle. Maybe not.....

March 2008,

Is it spring yet??

Too much work has kept me busy, but delaying some of my own projects. Primarily, my own chopper. I did manage to machine the two sets of wheels I was planning on doing. They're in the "
parts" area under wheels. Take a look.  My goal is to have the wheels and tires on my chopper by mid April. I'm currently in the process of designing the foot controls. Hoping to also have them made by mid April. It should actually begin to look like a motorcycle (without a motor) by then. Stop back and check on my progress.

Thanks for stopping by and please take a minute to sign my
guest book.

November 1, 2007

I'm currently working on a wheel project with Canadian bike builder John Stewart and CAD
wizard Wendell Pehlemann. I'll be machining two different sets of wheels. While I have no intention of
doing any more than those, I think they will showcase the abilities and versatility of Tixe. Check back to
see the progress. I'm hoping to be cutting mid to late November.

Springers: I'm currently working on six complete springers. (have deposits on two of them) They should
be available in late December. Sooner, if I get caught up on work and have some machine time available.
