Building Crazy Horse:
I
bought this '02 Chief new in '03. I got it home from Erie
Pa. on a Saturday. Tore it apart on Monday and sent the
sheet metal to paint. Lowered the backend 3 inches, put
it back together with custom made seat and bags and rode
it for a few years. Never even drove it in silver paint.
Then, with the help of ace wrench Terry Allen, tore it
down to the frame. Sent the frame to powdercoat, the
motor to Blackhawk Motorworks, and fabricated an original
1940 Indian jockey shifter to function with the stock
foot shifter (can be shifter either way). I sent the
primary covers and the custom made Crazy Horse aircleaner
to chrome. Put it back together to what you see here.
Naturally all the custom made parts were by me.
Thanks to Rick Blasutig of Pro-Tech for helping with the
shifter linkage design and fabrication.
